Tobias Wegel

about

I am a third year PhD student in Computer Science at ETH Zürich under the supervision of Fanny Yang. I am part of the Statistical Machine Learning group.

Most of my work focuses on developing statistical algorithms for selecting or combining machine learning models and establishing theoretical guarantees for their performance, particularly in aggregation and multi-objective learning.

In 2024, I spent a semester at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at UC Berkeley, and before starting my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford advised by Patrick Rebeschini. I hold a Master's degree in Data Science from ETH Zürich and two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Göttingen in Pure Mathematics and in Mathematical Data Science.
